I will not tell you to stand up. Now is not the time.
Here, we Why nothing works We look only at the reason.
Seven pieces — read them in order.

01
There are things you can only see from where you collapsed
I lost my brother when I was young. I lived five years in hell after that.
I will not write here what those five years were like. No good comes of writing it,
and no good comes of it for whoever reads it either.
There is one thing I can tell you, though. There are things you can only see from that spot.
Things a person walking steadily forward can never see.
For instance, this — people do not collapse because it is hard, but
when to the hardship they When you cannot attach a meaning collapse.
Given the same weight, a person with a reason attached holds on a long time.
I did not get out because I was strong.
It just took me five years to find roughly where the way out was.
There are already plenty of people telling you how to succeed.
But What someone who has collapsed says to someone collapsingis rare.
Those words don't come down from above; they come from beside you.
Revival Ground began in order to make that seat beside you.
These seven pieces are not answers. I have no intention of selling answers.
What I can give you is the map I drew while wandering for five years.
A map does not make the road easy, but At least you will not circle the same spot three times.
02
It is not your fault that kind words don't land
Be strong. Think positive. Time will make it all right.
You have surely heard all of it. And surely none of it got in.
You may even have blamed yourself for it — why don't words like that work on me.
It not working is normal. There is a reason.
Every one of those words was written for someone already moving forwardis why.
"Be strong" is a phrase for someone with at least some strength left.
It is like telling an account with a zero balance to spend carefully.
"Think positive" is crueller still. It asks the person who thinks this way right now
Being told to rule it wrongis how it sounds. You already dislike yourself,
and this adds one more thing on top.
"Time heals" is only half true. Time passes, but
How you cross that stretch of time— nobody tells you that.
Given the same five years, some come through and some stay trapped inside.
The difference is not the length of time but the way you cross it.
It was not that there was too little comfort.
The words simply did not fit where you are standing.
Remember only this
If what the people around you say doesn't land, don't hate them for it.
They have never stood in that place, so those are the only words they know.
It is not ill will — it is a matter of experience.
03
Not wanting to do anything is not laziness — it is conservation
Washing, eating, replying — all of it is too much.
You only lie there and the day is gone. Then at night you curse yourself.
That loop eats a person more than anything.
But this is not laziness. The body is conserving.
People spend an enormous amount of strength processing feeling.
After something big, the body puts nearly all its resources into that processing.
Nothing is left, so there is no strength to assign even to something as small as washing.
Once you know this, one thing changes. You blame yourself less.
Self-blame burns through what strength is left.
"I am not broken right now — I am overloaded." That one sentence
saves a good deal of the strength you spend in a day.
And then the order is set. In this stretch you must not make big decisions.
A new job, a break-up, a move, a contract. Judgement takes a lot of strength, and right now you have none.
Big decisions made now are mostly regretted later.
Put off everything you can. Putting it off is also a strategy.
Remember only this
Don't make a to-do list today. Instead, A list of what you don't have to doinstead.
Cutting down is the only thing you can do right now.
04
How to get across just today
How am I supposed to live from here. When that thought arrives you cannot breathe.
Of course you can't. Trying to reckon the whole rest of your life with the strength you have now is why.
When someone at the bottom reckons twenty years ahead, the answer is always despair.
The arithmetic isn't wrong — this is simply not the time to do it.
Over those five years I used one method. Making the unit smaller.
If a year is too much, a month. If a month is too much, a day.
If a day is too much, the next hour.
If even that is too much, these twenty minutes.
Anyone can bear twenty minutes.
And a day is only twenty minutes, seventy-two times over.
There is nothing shameful in it. It is what is actually used in a disaster,
and addiction recovery works a day at a time too. Swear off it for life and you fail;
say just for today and it holds. People are simply built that way.
And one more thing. When you cross a day, Decide in advance when it ends.
At eleven at night, today is over. Well lived or badly lived, it is over.
Close it without appraising it. Appraisal is for people who have strength.
Just one thing today
Set a closing time for today. When it comes,
don't weigh how well you did — just close the day.
05
How to live carrying a scene that will not go
Some scenes do not erase. Mine haven't either.
There was a time I tried to forget, and the harder I tried the sharper it got.
Forgetting cannot be the goal. That is something we cannot do.
What changes is not the scene but how much room it takes up.
At first it is the whole day. You open your eyes and start there.
As time passes it becomes half a day, then a corner,
and one day it does not come to mind once before evening.
And that night You notice that, and then feel guilty again.
I was the same. That is not betrayal. It is recovery.
And this I do want to say.
People who have lost someone close that way almost always
What I missedover and over, thousands of times.
What was said that day, the look on their face, the call you didn't make.
I held that list for a very long time too.
That is not something you missed.
Going back over it is what love does when it has nowhere to go.
Love does not disappear, so with nowhere to go it turns back on you.
That is what self-blame really is. So the harsher the self-blame,
It means the love was large— it does not mean the fault was large.
It took me years to understand that sentence.
This part is hard to handle in writing alone, though.
If the going-back-over is wrecking your sleep or your days,
please look at the numbers below. A person comes first.
06
When everyone else seems to be pulling ahead
Someone your age gets a job, gets married, buys a house.
You barely got out of bed today. That contrast kills a person twice.
Collapsing is hard enough, and Even the sum that says you fell behind it sits on top.
One fact first. What you are looking at is those people's The result screen.
The process is invisible. And most people
never post the stretch when they were falling apart.
The very material you compare against is skewed.
But that alone does not undo it. It did not undo it for me either.
What actually changed was The moment I admitted the track was differentit was.
I had not fallen behind in the same race —
I was in an entirely different event.
While everyone else was stacking up achievements, I How to get up after collapsingwas what I was learning.
At the time it looked like nothing but loss. Now I know —
it is a skill most people never learn in a lifetime,
and once learned, whatever comes next, the depth you fall to is different.
It is also the reason I can write this now.
Don't try to match the pace. You cannot, and you don't need to.
Only, What you are learning in this stretch— do keep that in mind.
Later it becomes the most irreplaceable thing you have.
07
The way out is not up but sideways
Think of where you collapsed as a well and the only way out is up.
So everyone says "stand up", "climb out".
But telling someone with no strength to climb up is an impossible order.
My own experience was different. I did not climb up — I walked out sideways.
I did not recover one day all at once.
I moved a few steps a day, very slightly off the old direction.
I looked back and I was outside.
Walking sideways means this.
Instead of trying to feel better, Only the shape of the day changing it a little.
Sleep at the same hour, open a window in the morning, walk ten minutes, contact one person.
Your mood can stay as it is. Mood follows later.
The order is the other way round — you do not move because you feel better;
you feel better because you moved.
Recovery does not come from resolve.
It comes from structure.
And so the next stage of Revival Ground is called 〈The time you hold on〉.
It covers how to hold on, not how to get better.
Holding on has a method too, and knowing it gets you through the same time far less hurt.
Only after that does 〈The time to build again〉comes.
There you rebuild your reason, your purpose and your standard.
If you have read this far, you have done today's work.
You need not do any more.
Stage 1 ends here
Read it, and if it isn't for you, just leave. We won't hold on to you.
But if even one sentence landed, the next stage is
How to hold onin far more detail — an e-book, a page-a-day workbook,
and one letter each morning for thirty days.
Revival Ground is lectures and writing. Not treatment, counselling or diagnosis.
If you can barely bear it right now, before any writing, People first.
