ATOVIA MINDCARE

A place to find the words for yourself

How to stand again where you fell, the grain you were born with, your place among people, the eight characters. What we measure it on and what it cannot — we write both on the report exactly as they are.

FAQ

The first questions

  • Is this counselling, or a course?

Revival Ground It is lectures and writing. It is not treatment or counselling, and we do not diagnose. If your condition calls for medical judgement, we will point you to a professional service.

  • Can this replace psychological treatment?

Revival Ground No, it cannot replace them. If you are in hospital treatment or professional counselling, carry on with it. Revival Ground is writing you keep beside that, and read.

  • What if I don't know my birth time?

Starhall We read six characters, leaving out the hour pillar. The day stem and the spread of the five energies still come out. The report is marked 'no hour pillar', and anything that needs it is left blank.

  • Do I enter the lunar or the solar date?

Starhall Please enter the solar date. The chart is divided by solar terms, not by the lunar calendar, so a lunar date entered as-is puts the month out.

  • How is this different from the well-known four-letter test?

Nature Gate That test puts people into sixteen boxes; Nature Gate looks only at where you sit on five grains. Near a boundary the box flips every time, but the position does not. Since McCrae and Costa's 1989 work the two systems translate into each other, so if you already know your four letters you can read them alongside in the report.

  • Where do the items come from?

Nature Gate We use public-domain items from the International Personality Item Pool (IPIP), material explicitly cleared for commercial use. The 25 items in stage 1 are our own, rewritten in Korean on top of that.

  • Do you need the other person's details?

Moon Pavilion Stage 1 does not need it. It looks only at where you usually stand. Looking at two people together starts in stage 2.

  • Do you give a compatibility score?

Moon Pavilion We do not give a score. Knowing the number does not produce anything to do next. Instead we give you where it goes wrong, and one line to try saying at that moment.

OUR LIMITS

This we cannot do

Saying what we cannot do is worth more than listing what we can.

We do not diagnose

We do not use names like depression or anxiety disorder. The tests are a tool for seeing roughly where you are now, not a diagnosis.

We do not tell fortunes

Starhall opens up exactly how the eight characters were calculated, and draws a clear line between the calculation and the reading.

We do not sort people into boxes

We do not divide people into sixteen boxes. We look only at roughly where you sit along five gradients, and we say where the questions came from.

If it is urgent, call 109

Korea's suicide prevention line, 109, is open 24 hours. If you feel you are in danger right now, that comes before any lesson here.
